Church-wide Meeting for Candidate Weekend
December 14th and 15th

Congratulations Church! The Pastor Search Committee (PSC) has selected a Candidate for Call as our new Full-time Pastor. The work of the committee is to be commended as they were thoughtful, honest, prayerful, and spirit-led through this process. I cannot thank them enough!

On November 13th, the Council approved the PSC’s selection and we will be moving forward to a Candidate Weekend where everyone will get a chance to meet the Pastor and then vote on their Call. December 14 we will have a candidate luncheon where we will break bread together and you will have an opportunity to get to know them. On December 15, they will lead worship after which they will leave for a bit and we will vote. December 15 in an official congregation voting meeting and this serves as the 30 days notice.

I am so excited for you to meet the Candidate! They are currently a part-time associate Pastor at a church in Western Washington. They meet the requirements of a fully ordained Pastor in the UCC and are very involved in the conference and the wider Church. They have a passion for church and what it can be and this enthusiasm will go a long way to the re-birth of our church. Following the message of Jesus, they are devoted to social justice and believe in the power of community to change and heal our world. Unusual for a Pastor, they are an extrovert who loves connecting and working with others. They are looking forward to getting to know you all and working toward creating God’s kingdom in our community.

Saturday Advent Lectio Divina Study
As we prepare and wait during the Advent season, join us for a Lectio Divina study on Saturdays at 10:30am. We will spend time in meditation and conversation on Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. We will be using pages from the 2024 Advent and Christmastide Devotional: The Mess in the Messiah. If you don’t yet have a copy you can grab one in the office. This will be a hybrid meeting: in-person in the church library and via Zoom.
